Nelson Mandela and Faith-based News + Filmmaker Stephen V. Nelson

SISTASinZION Radio! Sundays 5pm – 7pm (Mountain Time) Listen live HERE and call in at (646) 478-3671. If you miss a live show listen here at anytime! This week on SiZ Radio:

This week the Sistas talk to BYU student and filmmaker Stephen V. Nelson. Plus they chat about recent faith-based news: The passing of Nelson Mandela, LDS Race and Priesthood statement, Mormon Bishop goes undercover and more.

Stephen V. Nelson was born and raised in Boise, Idaho. He gained a love for film when he was in Jr. High and his mother bought him editing software to play around with. Play quickly turned to more, in that moment that he knew he would be making films for the rest of his life. Stephen is currently a senior at Brigham Young University where he will graduate with a degree in Media Arts this month. He has made many short films and is thrilled to be working on his first feature film, 6 Till Engaged.

  1. FYI, lds.org is the LDS Church’s official website. Most official statements on it are not signed nor are the drafters named. They also are not dated sometimes. A couple of examples are:

    * Refutations of Prof Bott’s comments and general statement about race/racism

    * Statement on Prop 8 ruling

  4. Enjoyed the show, it really made me think about the restriction in a different way. Inspired this post, which are my thoughts on the restriction and the new statement.

Hope you’ll read, and that it’ll provide some other thoughts you might not have considered. I personally think the new page, as well as the videos and multimedia that go with it, are faith building and will only provide for the education of us all.

Thanks for everything you ladies are doing. It’s changing the Church in a great way!
